The pitch multiplier converts a flat footprint into actual sloped roof area (a standard trigonometric approximation, not specific to any manufacturer). 1 roofing square = 100 sq ft. Bundle count assumes 3 bundles per square, the standard for most architectural and 3-tab shingles - check your specific product, since some run 4 bundles per square. This doesn't account for hips, valleys, or complex roof geometry beyond what the pitch multiplier covers.
